The Beekeeper

The Beekeeper follows Marcello Mastroianni's character Spyros, a retired teacher and beekeeper, as he makes his annual journey from north to south Greece after his daughter's wedding. Along the way, he meets Nadia Mourouzi's erratic young female drifter, with whom he forms an unusual and self-destructive relationship. As they travel together, they visit old friends and family members, including Spyros' estranged wife, played by Jenny Roussea, who is struggling with her own marital issues. The film ultimately ends with Spyros, now alone and elderly, being repeatedly stung by his angry bees as he prepares to return home.
