Pitfall

An insurance man wishing for a more exciting life becomes wrapped up in the affairs of an imprisoned embezzler, his model girlfriend, and a violent private investigator. Married insurance adjuster John Forbes (Dick Powell) falls for femme fatale model Mona Stevens (Lizabeth Scott), while her boyfriend is in jail. As Private Investigator J.B. MacDonald (Raymond Burr) becomes attracted to Mona, the consequences for everyone could well be critical, leading to a complex web of blackmail, extramarital affairs, and violence.
