Digging to China

Digging to China is a 1997 American drama film directed by Timothy Hutton and starring Evan Rachel Wood as Harriet Frankovitz, a pre-teen girl who forms a deep bond with Ricky Schroth (Kevin Bacon), a mentally disabled man who becomes her unlikely friend. The two run away together after tragedy strikes, and their journey takes them to an abandoned caboose in the woods.
