End of the Game

Hans Bärlach (Martin Ritt) is a Swiss police commissioner nearing death from stomach cancer when his partner Lt. Robert Schmied (Donald Sutherland) is found murdered. Detective Walter Tschanz (Jon Voight), who initially investigates the case, uncovers dark secrets about wealthy businessman Richard Gastmann (Robert Shaw). As the investigation unfolds, Bärlach's motives are revealed, and Tschanz must confront the commissioner's manipulations in order to bring Gastmann to justice.
