Wake in Fright

In the scorching Australian outback, a young schoolteacher named John Grant descends into personal moral degradation after being stranded in the brutal town of Tiboonda during the Christmas holidays. Stranded and broke, he becomes embroiled in a world of booze-fueled debauchery with the locals, including a deranged medical practitioner named Doc Tydon, who reveals his own troubled past. As John's drinking binge spirals out of control, he finds himself at the mercy of a sinister group of townsfolk who expose him to the darker side of human nature.
