My Summer Story

The film takes place in the summer of 1941 and follows the Parker family as they navigate various events in their lives. Ralphie (Kieran Culkin) searches for the perfect top to beat a bully's top in a game, while his father (Charles Grodin), known as the Old Man, tries to outdo his hillbilly neighbors, the Bumpuses, who are annoyingly loud and obnoxious. Meanwhile, Mrs. Parker (Mary Steenburgen) attempts to collect all pieces of a glass china set at a local movie theater.
