The Last Time I Saw Paris

Charles Wills (Van Johnson), a Stars and Stripes journalist in Paris to cover the end of World War II, falls for Helen Ellswirth after a brief flirtation with her sister Marion. After marrying Helen, Charles struggles to pursue his novelistic ambitions while supporting his new wife with a deadening job at a newspaper wire service. When an old investment makes the family wealthy, their marriage begins to unravel — until a sudden tragedy changes everything, leading Charles back to Paris and ultimately to a poignant encounter with his estranged daughter, Vicki.
