Walter Pidgeon was a Canadian-American actor known for his strong performances during Hollywood's Golden Age. He earned two Academy Award nominations for Best Actor for his roles in Mrs. Miniver and Madame Curie, and starred in notable films like Forbidden Planet and Funny Girl. As the 10th president of the Screen Actors Guild, Pidgeon received the Guild's Life Achievement Award in 1975 and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.
