Madame Curie

Madame Curie is a 1943 American biographical film about Polish-French physicist Marie Skłodowska as she studies at the Sorbonne in 1890s Paris and shares her research lab with future husband Pierre Curie. Marie, a gifted scientist, faces skepticism from her peers but finds a supportive partner in Pierre, an extremely shy and absentminded man devoted to his work. Together, they embark on a quest to extract radium from pitchblende ore, eventually isolating the element after four years of research.
