Tokyo Pop

A young American rock singer named Wendy Reed travels to Tokyo after receiving a postcard from her friend who lives in Japan. She takes a job as a hostess at a karaoke bar and meets Hiro Yamaguchi, the leader of a struggling Japanese rock band, who invites her to join his group, "Red Warriors", looking for a gaijin gimmick. As Wendy becomes immersed in Tokyo's music scene, she develops a romantic connection with Hiro, and together they navigate cultural differences and pursue their passions as musicians.
