Carry on at Your Convenience

In "Carry on at Your Convenience," Sidney James stars as Sid Plummer, a union representative at W.C. Boggs' Lavatory factory who often calls strikes, much to the frustration of his co-workers and management. The film blends toilet gags with a tale about unionized shop floors, following Vic Spanner (Kenneth Cope), the bolshy and lazy union representative, as he navigates his relationships with Sid's daughter, Myrtle, and Sid's wife, Beattie, played by Hattie Jacques. Sid and Beattie find success betting on their pet budgie Joey's predictions of horserace winners, while Vic's antics lead to a chaotic works outing to Brighton that brings the workers and management together.
