In post-communist Romania, a generation's nostalgia for a bygone era is put to the test when Emilia, an elderly communist stalwart, welcomes her daughter from the United States back into her life, forcing her to confront the changing times and the fading of her once-illustrious past. As she struggles to fix her daughter's financial woes, flashbacks reveal the golden age of communism that Emilia clings to with nostalgia, while the harsh realities of modern Romania threaten to upend her world.
