Luminița Gheorghiu

Biography

Luminița Gheorghiu was a Romanian actress and artistic performer who achieved international recognition for her roles in The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2006) and Child's Pose (2013). A graduate of the Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts in Bucharest, she began her career at the Casandra Theatre in 1971 and later performed at the Bulandra Theatre from 1976 to 2003. Her film credits also include Code Unknown with Juliette Binoche. Gheorghiu passed away on July 4, 2021, at the age of 71.
