The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

Luther Heggs (Don Knotts), a typesetter for the Rachel Courier Express, pitches an idea about a local haunted house and spends the night alone in the mansion, resulting in supernatural encounters that ultimately lead to him becoming a hometown hero. His story gets the town abuzz, but he's sued by the nephew of the deceased couple for libel. Along the way, Luther wins the beautiful Alma Parker (Joan Staley) and solves the murder mystery, completely by accident.
