Coney Island

At the turn of the century, smooth talking con man Eddie Johnson (George Montgomery) weasels his way into a job at friend and rival Joe Rocco's (Cesar Romero) Coney Island night spot, where he meets the club's star attraction (and Joe's love interest), Kate Farley (Betty Grable), a brash singer with a penchant for flashy clothes. Eddie and Kate argue as he tries to soften her image, but eventually, she becomes the toast of Coney Island and the two fall in love. However, their happiness is threatened when Joe tries to sabotage their marriage plans, leading to a series of escalating pranks and a fight that results in Finnegan (Charles Winninger) being knocked out, prompting Eddie's clever revenge.
