High Strung

Ruby, a classical ballet dancer, earns a scholarship to the prestigious Manhattan Conservatory of the Arts, where she befriends her roommate Jasmine (Sonoya Mizuno) and catches the interest of a violinist, Johnnie (Nicholas Galitzine). With no formal training in contemporary dance, Ruby struggles to fit in, but helps Johnnie track down his stolen violin while learning about his illegal immigration status. As they prepare for a competition that could change their lives forever, they begin a romantic relationship and find common ground with the help of a hip-hop dance crew, preparing a fusion performance that combines classical ballet with hip-hop.
