Dream Boy

"Dream Boy" is a 2008 American drama film based on Jim Grimsley's novel of the same name. The story follows Nathan (Stephan Bender), a shy and quiet teenager who moves to St. Francisville, Louisiana, with his parents Harlan (Thomas Jay Ryan) and Vivian (Diana Scarwid). There, he befriends Roy (Maximillian Roeg), a year older classmate who introduces him to a clandestine relationship, but they must navigate issues of trust, fear of being caught, and the brutal reality of rural southern America in the late 1970s.
