The Scarlet Pimpernel

In 18th century Paris, during the Reign of Terror of the French Revolution, a secret league of brave Englishmen rescues French aristocrats from the Guillotine, led by the mysterious Scarlet Pimpernel. Known only as Sir Percy Blakeney in society, he poses as a foppish and seemingly empty-headed nobleman to hide his true identity. As he marries the beautiful French actress Marguerite St. Just, she becomes entangled with the ruthless agent Paul Chauvelin, who seeks to capture the Scarlet Pimpernel.
