The Six Triple Eight

During World War II, the US Army's only all-Black, all-women battalion sorts through a three-year backlog of 17 million pieces of mail that hadn't been delivered to American soldiers and finishes within six months under the command of Major Charity Adams (Kerry Washington) as they face racism and logistical challenges while trying to turn a disused school into a post office and barracks. The battalion, led by Maj. Adams, earns their respect through hard work, dedication, and female leadership in a male-dominated environment. Despite initial skepticism from racist commanding officers, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion successfully clears the backlog of mail, earning recognition for their crucial contribution to boosting morale among American soldiers overseas.
