Jawbreaker

"Jawbreaker" (1999) is a black comedy high school film about three popular girls, Courtney Shayne, Marcie Fox, and Julie Freeman, who cover up the murder of their friend Elizabeth Purr after a prank goes awry. The trio forces outcast Fern Mayo into their clique by blackmailing her, leading to a dark exploration of female friendship, jealousy, and ambition. With the help of Detective Vera Cruz, played by Pam Grier, the group's web of lies is eventually exposed at the senior prom, bringing justice to the victim and revealing the true extent of their cruelty.
