Shin Godzilla

In 2016, Japan is plagued by a massive, gilled monster named Godzilla that emerges from Tokyo Bay and tears through the city, prompting a rag-tag team of volunteers to uncover its weakness. A Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, Rando Yaguchi (Hiroki Hasegawa), leads the task force researching the creature, which is energized by nuclear fission and has evolved into multiple forms, including a bipedal one that wreaks havoc on Tokyo. As time runs out to find a solution, the team discovers that Godzilla's plates work as a cooling system, and they devise a plan to freeze it using a coagulating agent. In the end, the team manages to subdue Godzilla by freezing its body solid, but not before it kills many people and sets off an international crisis.
