Mufasa: The Lion King

Mufasa, an orphaned lion who grows up to become the future king of the Pride Lands, the father of Simba and the grandfather of Kiara, meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline, in a chance meeting that sets in motion an expansive journey for a group of misfits searching for their destiny. Alongside Sarabi, her hornbill scout Zazu, and a young Rafiki, they flee from the encroaching white lions led by Kiros after Taka's betrayal forces Mufasa to battle his own brother-turned-king Scar in a quest to find the mythical oasis of Milele, where he becomes King of Pride Rock and unites with his lost family.
