The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom

Elizabeth Alison Gray (Julia Sarah Stone) is an 11-year-old girl living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, who discovers her whole life has been a lie when she finds out her blood type means she's not her parents' natural child. She runs away to find the truth with the help of her friend Annabelle and her mother Marion (Macha Grenon). Along the way, she becomes fixated on Dolly Parton, whose voice Elizabeth hears in her dreams and imagines meeting her as a source of comfort and inspiration.
