A Rhode Island senator named Ty Pangborn dons clown makeup and uses a shotgun to kill his dysfunctional family during his son's birthday party before committing suicide, meanwhile, in Nebraska, Ben purchases a supernatural cymbal banging monkey toy that causes terror for him and his wife Michelle, who researches the dark history behind it and ultimately shoots the possessed toy with her husband's shotgun.
