Poor Cow

"18-year-old Joy leaves home to marry Tom, who mentally and physically abuses her after serving a four-year prison sentence. After a brief stint with Dave, one of Tom's associates, Joy moves in with Aunt Emm, an aging prostitute, before returning to Tom and starting work as a barmaid. She drifts into promiscuity but eventually realizes how much she loves her young son Johnny, leading her to stay with Tom despite the abuse."
