Two amiable samurai, Tenge Tanzen (Raizō Ichikawa) and Nakayama Yasubei (Shintarō Katsu), find themselves on opposite sides of a vendetta between Lord Asano's retainers and the family of Lord Kira that led to the famous revenge of the 47 Ronin. The film explores the complexities of loyalty, honor, and revenge set against the backdrop of feudal Japan during the Edo period.
