Only the Brave

The film tells the story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite crew of firefighters from Prescott, Arizona, who lost 19 of 20 members while fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire in June 2013. The crew, led by Eric Marsh (Josh Brolin), undergoes a series of challenges and evaluations to prove themselves, including a test by fire against the Horseshoe 2 Fire. As they face various trials and personal struggles, Brendan "Donut" McDonough (Miles Teller) finds redemption and tries to build a new life for himself after overcoming addiction. The film ultimately pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, particularly during their final deployment against the Yarnell Hill Fire, which claims the lives of 19 crew members.
