In 2007, Monkey Magic, also known as Saiyuuki!, is released, bringing Journey to the West to life on the big screen. The film follows Son Goku, played by Shingo Katori, Tripitaka/Sanzo Hoshi, played by Eri Fukatsu, and Cho Hakkai/Pigsy, played by Atsushi Ito, as they journey to China, battling foes like Sa Gojou/Friar Sand, played by Teruyoshi Uchimura.
