Colombiana

A revenge thriller with a twist: a young girl witnesses her parents' murder as a child and grows up to become a skilled assassin, driven by a desire for vengeance against the drug lord responsible. With its fast-paced action sequences and strong lead performance from Zoe Saldaña, Colombiana is an entertaining but flawed film that never quite lives up to its potential. Despite a solid foundation in terms of female revenge cinema, the script's weaknesses hold it back from being more than just a middling summer blockbuster.
