Goodbye Pork Pie

Gerry Austin (Kelly Johnson), also known as "Blondini," steals a wallet and uses the cash to rent a yellow Mini in Kaitaia. He drifts down to Auckland, where he meets John, a middle-aged man who has just split up with his girlfriend Sue. John hires Gerry for a lift to Invercargill, but they get into various scrapes along the way, including accidentally driving off without paying petrol and evading police. Alongside Shirl, another drifter, they travel through New Zealand in the Mini, getting into further trouble and eventually leading to a dramatic confrontation with the authorities at Sue's sister's home in Invercargill, where John ultimately reunites with Sue.
