Biography

Tony Barry was a versatile Australian actor and activist known for his long-standing career in both Australia and New Zealand. He appeared in notable roles such as Sarge in "Mystery Road" (2013) and Col Maloney in the film "Mullet" (2001). Despite battling melanoma, which culminated in a 2014 leg amputation, Barry continued acting until his passing at 81 in 2022. He was recognized for his extraordinary contribution to the Australian film industry with the 2014 Film Critics Circle of Australia award.
