20,000 Years in Sing Sing

Cocky Tommy Connors (Spencer Tracy) enters Sing Sing cocksure of himself and disrespectful toward authority, but his tough but compassionate warden changes him. Connors's determination to escape is unshaken, but his tough exterior is stripped away as he falls for Fay Wilson, the girlfriend of his associate Joe Finn. Fay is injured in a car accident and is not expected to live, but Connors promises to return, and Fay's testimony may save his life. In the end, Connors is found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to death in the electric chair, but his warden's compassion and Fay's love may prove to be his only hope.
