Sürgün

The film "Sürgün" tells the story of Eleni, a young Greek woman in love with Sedat, a Turkish man from a poor family, on the island of Büyükada in 1964. As they prepare to get married, Eleni's father, Stavro, disapproves of their relationship, adding to the pressure of their situation. Meanwhile, the deteriorating relationship between Greeks and Turks in Cyprus threatens to upend the lives of the Greek population in Turkey, leading to the government's decision to force Turkish citizens of Greek descent to migrate to Greece.
