Corações Sujos

In 1945, Japan's surrender to the United States is met with skepticism by most Japanese immigrants in Brazil, who refuse to accept the truth, labeling those who do as "dirty hearts" who dishonor the emperor. The film follows the wife of a Shindo Renmei member, Takahashi (Tsuyoshi Ihara), as she witnesses her husband's descent into fanaticism and bloodshed. As their love story fades away, the wife is forced to confront the harsh reality of her husband's actions and the private war that has been brewing in their community.
