Tsuyoshi Ihara is a Japanese actor of Korean descent, born on November 6, 1963 in Kitakyūshū, Japan to Korean parents. He grew up in Ikuno-ku, Osaka and graduated from Imamiya Senior High School. After joining Sonny Chiba's Japan Action Club, he gained international recognition for his role as Baron Takeichi Nishi in Clint Eastwood's Letters from Iwo Jima in 2006.
