Dark City

A man named John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) wakes up in a hotel bathtub with amnesia and discovers a dead woman's body in another room. He flees the scene, pursued by a group of pale men in trenchcoats known as the Strangers, who seek to exploit his unique abilities, which include the power to manipulate reality through "tuning." As Murdoch tries to uncover his true identity, he encounters a detective (William Hurt) and an estranged wife (Jennifer Connelly), leading him on a perilous quest to escape the city's perpetual darkness and uncover the secrets of his past.
