Dead Ringer

Bette Davis stars as Margaret DeLorca / Edith Phillips, a woman who murders and impersonates her identical twin sister, Edith, after a lifetime of estrangement and rivalry. As she navigates her new identity, Edith must contend with the suspicions of her husband's police detective, Sergeant Jim Hobbson, played by Karl Malden, and her lover Tony Collins, played by Peter Lawford, who threatens to expose her deception. The film's complex web of identity, deception, and betrayal is expertly woven by Davis, who once again proves her remarkable range as an actress.
