Far and Away

In 1892 Ireland, impoverished tenant farmer Joseph Donnelly dreams of owning his own land after his father's death. After being cheated by his family's hostile land takeovers, Joseph flees with Shannon Christie, a headstrong and resourceful Irish woman who has been mistreated by her family. As they escape to America in search of the American Dream, they face numerous challenges, including bare-knuckle boxing matches, suspicion of murder, and class division. Along the way, they find love and companionship, but also struggle to adapt to their new lives, leading up to a thrilling Land Run of 1893 that will determine their fate in the Oklahoma territory.
