Tideland

A young girl named Jeliza-Rose (Jodelle Ferland) is left alone on a decrepit country estate after her irresponsible parents die, and she survives inside her fantastic imagination, aided by dismembered Barbie doll heads that act as her companions. Her father's death from a heroin overdose leaves his body seated upright in a chair with sunglasses covering his eyes, which Jeliza-Rose eventually acknowledges and begins to explore the world around her, befriending eccentric neighbors Dickens (Brendan Fletcher) and Dell (Janet McTeer), who take her under their wing despite a troubled past.
