In a desperate bid for revenge against those responsible for the deaths of his family, a former Connaught Ranger returns to his homeland in 1847 Ireland, where the Great Famine has ravaged the country, leaving death and poverty in its wake. With the help of a veteran British army investigator and an idealistic young private, he sets out on a perilous journey to hunt down those who inflicted suffering on his loved ones, leading to a violent confrontation with the ruthless landlord and authorities who seek to maintain their grip on power.
