The Pirates of Penzance

In this swashbuckling adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan's 1879 comic opera, young Frederic, apprenticed to a pirate by mistake, sets out to leave his life of piracy behind as he turns 21. But complications arise when the pirates decide to marry the Major-General's daughters, including the lovely Mabel, whom Frederic falls deeply in love with. As Frederic's birthdate is revealed to be Leap Day, and thus still tied to the pirates until his 21st birthday in 1940, he must navigate a complex web of loyalties and allegiances between the pirates and "respectable society" - ultimately leading to a heartwarming conclusion that brings joy and redemption to all.
