"Mystery of Edwin Drood" is a 1935 American melodrama film directed by Stuart Walker and based on Charles Dickens' unfinished novel of the same name. The film follows John Jasper, a choirmaster addicted to opium (Claude Rains), who becomes obsessed with a beautiful young woman, Rosa Bud (Heather Angel). As Jasper's fixation intensifies, he will stop at nothing to possess her, even if it means confronting his own dark past and the rumors surrounding his nephew, Edwin Drood.
