In this gripping 1942 mystery film, Dr. Timothy Kane, a dedicated physician in New York City's Broadway district, finds himself entangled in a complex web of crime and deception. After foiling a desperate attempt by a young actress to take her own life, Doc saves the woman from certain arrest and hires her as his assistant. As he delves deeper into the dark underbelly of the city, Doc must confront a ruthless gangster on death row, who implores him to find his missing daughter in exchange for a substantial inheritance.
