Biography

Denis Shaw was a British character actor who made a name for himself as a villainous presence in films and television shows of the 1950s and 1960s. His notable roles include the German guard Priem in The Colditz Story and Caesar Smith in The Great Van Robbery, cementing his reputation as a master of playing nefarious characters. Shaw's extensive TV credits also showcased his versatility, with appearances in The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Avengers, and Sherlock Holmes. He died at 50 from a heart attack in London in 1971.
