Biography

James Albert "Jim" Varney Jr. was an American actor and comedian, best known for his Emmy Award-winning role as Ernest P. Worrell in a series of television commercial campaigns and film adaptations. He also voiced Slinky Dog in the first two Toy Story films and played Jed Clampett in the 1993 Beverly Hillbillies adaptation. Varney's career spanned from early childhood theater performances to notable voice roles, before his untimely death from lung cancer in 2000.
