Biography

Cécile Aubry was a French film actress, author, and television screenwriter and director born Anne-José Madeleine Henriette Bénard on August 3, 1928. She rose to fame in the 1940s and 1950s with roles in Henri-Georges Clouzot's "Manon" and Henry Hathaway's "The Black Rose," before retiring from film in 1959 to pursue a career in children's literature and television.
