Ryūnosuke Tsukigata was a Japanese actor known for his work in jidaigeki films and television, particularly in the chanbara genre. He began his career at Nikkatsu's actor's school in 1920 before earning his first starring role at Shōzō Makino's studio in 1924. Tsukigata appeared in notable films by directors such as Daisuke Itō and Akira Kurosawa, including "Sanshiro Sugata," where he played Sanshiro's rival.
