Akitake Kōno

Biography

Akitake Kōno was a prolific Japanese film actor active from 1943 to 1973, appearing in over sixty films. He began his career with the Zenshinza theater troupe before joining Toho studio in 1942, collaborating with notable directors such as Akira Kurosawa and Kenji Mizoguchi. Notable roles include Genzaburo Higaki in "Sanshiro Sugata, Part Two" (1945) and Murakami in "Battle Troop" (1944), among others.
