Edward F. Cline

Biography

Edward Francis Cline was a talented American screenwriter, actor, and director born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, who made a lasting impact on the film industry. He began his career at Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios in 1914 and later collaborated with comedians W.C. Fields, Buster Keaton, and Olsen and Johnson, crafting memorable roles for each. Cline is also notable for co-directing many of Keaton's early shorts, including the iconic "Hard Luck" (1921).
