Sumie Sasaki

Biography

Sasaki Sumie was a Japanese actress and voice actress born on June 22, 1928. She trained at the Tokyo Municipal Theatre School for the Performing Arts, graduating in her era with notable classmates including Tatsuya Ishii. Sasaki's notable roles include her appearances in "Tokyo Tower: Mom and Me, and Sometimes Dad" (2007) and "The Oil-Hell Murder" (1992), as well as her prolific work on NHK and other Japanese television networks. She passed away on February 17, 2019.
